Scheduling Seminars

Over the course of several weeks in January, our school counselors will be meeting with each grade level in a large group setting. The Class of 2025 went first on Wednesday, January 18. On Wednesday of this week, we're meeting with our current freshmen- The Class of 2026. Our juniors will be attending their seminar on Wednesday, February 1. These meetings are mandatory and the content covered is vital to making thoughtful course requests for the upcoming school year. Other topics covered include graduation requirements, accessing your school counselor and a quick spotlight on some social emotional supports available to students. Our sophomores were also able to participate in a Six District Compact Orientation event.

Students have access to their grade level scheduling seminar presentation through their Guidance Google Classroom (parents, your students can invite you to audit this page, too!). All students were given a hard copy of their grade level course request sheets which are to be completed and signed off on by a parent (please note that some courses also require a teacher signature). Students will enter their course requests electronically through SchooLinks. Once entered, students should turn in their completed course request sheets to the HHS School Counseling Office no later than February 10.

  • How did my son/daughter feel their schedule went this year? Was it too hard, just right, too easy?
  • What are my child's career aspirations and how can he/she take courses that help them to explore that interest and others?
